Introduction We are seeking a Process Front-End Sales Manager to join our Metso team. You will be responsible for engaging with customers at the earliest stages of project development to understand their needs and objectives, which involves guiding project scope, supporting conceptual process designs, and initiating process requests that lead to formal bids. Your role plays a crucial part in shaping high-quality project opportunities and ensuring strong technical foundations, which will positively impact successful proposals and business growth. In this position, you will report to the Front-End Sales Management.
This position is mainly located in the Vancouver area. This position will involve approximately 30–50% travel to Vancouver mostly and other customer sites, industry events, and project meetings.
What You’ll Do
- Engage with customers early in project development to understand process requirements, objectives, and constraints.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and operations.
- Guide junior mining companies and customers in defining project scope and technical direction.
- Support high-level flowsheet development and conceptual process designs aligned with Metso’s product portfolio.
- Conduct or support process studies at customer sites to define equipment needs and create inputs for bids.
- Initiate and manage process requests in Salesforce, setting the stage for the Proposal Team to develop formal proposals.
- Provide strategic input on technology selection and overall project feasibility.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, studies, and project status in Salesforce, keeping the FES & NCA Minerals team aligned.
Who You Are
- You have a technical background in mineral processing, process engineering, or a related field.
- You have 3+ years of experience in proposal writing, site operations and/or front-end sales
- You are comfortable engaging with customers at early project stages and working towards becoming a trusted technical advisor.'
- You can translate customer needs and process study outcomes into clear, structured inputs for bids and proposals.
- You are collaborative and work effectively with sales, product, R&D, and proposal teams. You flourish in a team environment.
- You are organized and disciplined in managing multiple opportunities and customer interactions.
- Nice to have: Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
