Summary
Were looking for a Intermediate Back-End Javascript API Developer to work with our core development team. This role operates across the API repositories with a strong focus on performance and security. Youll collaborate with core developers, and coordinate with infrastructure, design and product teams, sharing API security and performance related insights in planning and review sessions to build projects and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Design and develop and maintain secure APIs using the Node.js javascript frameworks.
- Interface with third-party packages, libraries, APIs and services including OpenAI.
- Design and maintain various relational and keystore database technologies.
- Develop using LLM driven development interfaces.
Lifecycle & Workflow
- Review project scopes and provide accurate time estimates for specific tasks.
- Engage in pull requests and engage in constructive peer review processes.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designs, provide feedback and ensure accurate implementation.
- Follow task management procedures and engage in daily standups.
DevOps & Tools
- Manage and interact with CI/CD pipelines for deployment through
- Utilize containerization tools for development and deployment consistency.
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Commercial staff.
- Participate in daily stand-ups to align on progress and blockers.
- Present completed work during weekly demonstrations.
- Regularly report project status and progress to leadership.
Testing and Automation
- Writing functional / integration testing patterns
- Automating tasks for application maintenance in coordination with the infra team.
Required Skills & Experience
- An undergraduate degree or computer science diploma, with 2-4 years of relevant work experience in software development, a startup/agency environment.
- Candidates without formal education may also qualify with equivalent professional experience.
- High proficiency in Javascript development in the server domains.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document problems, build reports, and translate issues into actionable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the strong written and oral communication.
- Independently capable of seeking information, documenting processes, and delivering results in challenging situations.
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and personal initiative, with comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cloud systems and Infrastructure management using IAC
- Experience resolving business use cases with AI service APIs
- Experience with analytics and monitoring tools.
- Experience using API Testing tools.
Salary
- $72K - $89K base salary per annum
Position Type
- Nature: Permanent, Full-time, and in person
- Time Commitment: 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime required
