Job Summary: The Mobile Cleaner II is responsible for cleaning tasks in designated areas of a building, including sanitizing and specialty cleaning services at various client and company locations while maintaining the highest standards of safety. The Mobile Cleaner II is responsible for enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations. The Mobile Cleaner II is responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection
Key Responsibilities: Functioning as a core member of the operational team and reporting to the Manager/ Supervisor as a Mobile Cleaner II you may be required to perform some of the following tasks as required by the Manager/Supervisor and needs of the client:
- Responsible for recurring cleaning tasks required to maintain general cleanliness and hygiene in a facility, including:
- Empty containers, replace liners in all work areas, and consolidate garbage in a centralized designated area.
- Sweep hard surface floors using dust-control mops or vacuums; vacuum carpeted areas using commercial-grade vacuums.
- Mop hard floor surfaces with appropriate cleaning solution or disinfectant depending on foot traffic and material type.
- Dust horizontal surfaces such as desks (when cleared), shelves, window ledges, and countertops.
- Spot cleaning of high-touch surfaces, such as light switches, door handles, and wall smudges.
- General tidying and reset of furniture and chairs in meeting rooms, lobbies, and open areas.
- Dust and wipe light covers and housings to maintain appearance and light output.
- Sort and organize recyclables and garbage collected from centralized designated areas followed by transportation to an external recycling and garbage location for final disposal.
- Exterior litter pick up surrounding all buildings, parking lots, etc. Removal of large debris as per client's request.
- Clean interior-facing glass surfaces to remove smudges, dust, and fingerprints.
- Vacuum and spot steam cleaning or full steam cleaning of entrance mats.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms to ensure hygiene, odor control, and visual cleanliness. Includes:
- Clean and sanitize fixtures: toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, hand dryers, and dispensers.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch points: stall doors, flush levers, faucets, door handles.
- Mop restroom floors using a disinfectant solution.
- Empty and re-line trash and sanitary bins, and consolidation of garbage in a centralized designated area in the same floor.
- Restock consumables: toilet paper, soap, paper towels, feminine hygiene products.
- Spot cleaning of mirrors, partitions, tiled walls, splash zones, and entry doors.
- Responsible for specialized cleaning tasks, including
- Clean exterior perimeter-facing glass surfaces, up to 9 feet of height, typically requiring water-fed poles, squeegees, or lift access.
- Removal of dust from vents, ledges, light fixtures, or exposed ductwork above 8 feet.
- High-pressure cleaning of exterior sidewalks, loading docks, parking lot, entrances and walls.
- Removal of existing floor finish and reapplication of wax to protect and restore hard floor surfaces.
- Clean ceramic tile with bonnet machine, scrubbing of grout for all tiled floors. Polishing of Luxury Vinyl Tile, Linoleum, Rubber Flooring, Terrazzo, and concrete floors.
- High-speed polish waxed floors to maintain gloss between full strip-and-wax cycles.
- Deep carpet steam clean using hot water and vacuum extraction to remove embedded dirt and allergens.
- Clean fabric-covered chairs and couches using extraction or dry foam methods.
- Cleaning (not replacing) stained acoustic ceiling tiles to improve room appearance.
- Vacuum, power wash, brush of scraper grills or Pedimat to remove dirt, debris, and buildup.
- Brush and wipe down of accessible HVAC vents and air returns to reduce dust buildup.
- Clean, sanitize, and restore contaminated work areas using approved disinfectants and biohazard procedures, proper PPE. supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for employees and visitors in an affected area.
- Water extraction for any emergency flood or leaks from hard surface floors or carpeted area for any account within BGIS SCS portfolio.
- Stairwell & Elevator Cleaning, use of ladders required.
- Remove snow debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking lots, using snowplows, snow blowers, snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals/salt.
Additional duties
- Complete site evaluations and Quality Assurance Inspections after any work is completed and also for any location if needed.
- Inspect all fire extinguishers and sign all tags and FE/EL forms in binders.
- Inspect all lights and report if there is any that needs to be repaired or looked at by BGIS technicians when needed.
- General repairs and/or installations of dispensers (soap, toilet paper, & paper towel, etc). Attempt repair anything within capability and put together any janitorial equipment or machinery as required.
- Change of light bulbs for where it is part of the contract.
- Report any deficiencies to Facility Manager while completing inspections.
- Deliver any machinery, equipment, and supplies from warehouse or any location from site to site if needed for large amounts.
- Must take before and after photos of any work completed using personal or company provided phone and all completed work must be documented using Clear site.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able and willing to workday or night shift, be available for on-call/standby, emergency call-outs as they arise, and escalations.
- Must be able to answer phone calls/emails after work hours.
- Ability to carry out repetitive work and lift over 35 pounds.
- Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment for all work being completed.
- Must be able and willing to drive to and perform work at multiple sites if assigned.
- May be required to following rotating shifts and/or emergency call-out and be on call as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Requires 3-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations. Especially with all types of cleaning machinery like bonnet machines, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, etc.
- Willing to learn more and able to work independently.
- Team Player and able to work with others.
- Good Verbal communication and writing skills.
- Able to use technology such as tablets, phones, and computers.
- Positive attitude towards all aspects of Environment and health and safety.
- Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable
- Must have a valid Class G license (required)

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $46,476 - $52,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
