About the role

Position Summary The Data Analytics Coordinator plays a supporting role as a steward of PRPA's data warehouses, from data ingestion through to the creation and maintenance of reports. They are responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of data used for various activities from infrastructure planning to business development.

Position Accountabilities

  • PRPA's primary data steward for all forms of data, including geospatial (GIS) data, which support day-to-day operations at PRPA.
  • Load data assets into PRPA’s data warehouses following best practices.
  • Support and maintain PRPA’s data warehouse.
  • Maintenance of reports and dashboards.
  • Training of PRPA staff in end user reporting tools available for accessing PRPA’s data.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Works predominantly in an office environment.
  • Regular, full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Regular working hours are Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 1 hour unpaid lunch break.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS Formal Education

  • College diploma in Analytics, Computer Science Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Information Technology.

Related Experience

  • Three to five years' experience in the industry.

Other Requirements

  • Experience with reporting tools and software including SSRS, PowerBI, Informatica.
  • Experience with SSIS or other data ingestion and transformation tools.
  • Experience using Safe FME for processing geospatial data.
  • Experience with report writing, organizing, and presenting data in support of decision making.
  • Demonstrates statistical and empirical analytical skills
  • Knowledge of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ETL methodologies, T-SQL and ArcGIS is an asset.
  • Familiar with the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn new skills and acquire industry knowledge.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with an analytical eye.
  • Superior judgment and tact in dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and to effectively handle changing priorities.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated. Works well individually as well as in a team environment.
  • Creative and intuitive thinker.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Port’s Vision.

  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint; some exposure to MS Access and Project.
  • Able to obtain security clearance under Transport Canada's Security Clearance Program.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

The base salary range for this role is $76,166.00 to $95,208.00
