The Opportunity:

As a Supply Management Lead for Commercial Excellence, you will play a critical enablement role that strengthens and modernizes the systems, processes, and ways of working across the procurement function. This role is designed for a forward‑looking leader who can own a strategy and translate it into scalable capabilities that prepare the organization for the future of work.

You will operate at the intersection of people, process, and technology to drive consistency, efficiency, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement across supply management functions. You will also utilize your strong relationship building skills to maintain an excellent level of customer service and professionalism. This role requires comfort leading multiple, concurrent initiatives, influencing without authority, and building a high‑performance team that thrives in a dynamic commercial environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Inspire and lead teams to deliver on Canadian Natural’s and Supply Management’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives
  • Serve as a strategic enabler for Supply Management by driving the evolution of core systems and processes across procurement, transportation & logistics, and materials management
  • Champion modern procurement practices and continuous improvement, building scalable, future‑ready solutions that support growth, resilience, and changing market conditions
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team (7–8 professionals), balancing speed, risk, and value across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration with Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, and internal business partners to ensure policy compliance and effective translation of business needs into system and process enhancements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning while maintaining strong governance and enabling agile, flexible execution

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 10 plus years of progressive supply chain experience, with a strong track record of driving results in complex, enterprise environments
  • Proven people leader with 3 plus years of formal leadership experience, successfully guiding teams through transformation and change
  • Post‑secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline, supported by continuous professional growth
  • Strategic and highly organized, with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives and portfolios simultaneously without losing momentum
  • Strong systems and process mindset, demonstrated through hands‑on experience implementing or enhancing ERP‑enabled and supply chain workflows
  • Data‑driven and solutions‑oriented, leveraging analytics, dashboards, and strong stakeholder relationships—including senior leaders—to inform decisions and deliver measurable value
