Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic National Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop a team of Oncology Key Account Managers across Canada. This leadership role is responsible for executing national brand strategies, driving sales performance, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong customer relationships to maximize product uptake and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and performance-manage a team of Oncology Key Account Managers.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide coaching, feedback, and strategic guidance.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture aligned with organizational values and goals.
- Monitor sales performance and administer the Sales Incentive Plan for the team.
- Ensure the team is trained on product knowledge, disease state expertise, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Sales Strategy Execution
- Translate national and regional strategies into actionable territory business plans.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure achievement of sales targets.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow market share, with a strong focus in oncology (including breast cancer).
- Use data analytics for customer segmentation, resource allocation, and informed decision-making.
- Consistently track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure goals are met.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and strengthen relationships with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support Key Account Managers in identifying and leveraging opportunities within their territories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, medical affairs, market access, and other internal stakeholders to ensure integrated customer engagement.
- Share field insights to inform brand strategies and planning.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to align on strategy, tactics, and execution.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience leading oncology or specialty care sales teams.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving market share growth.
- Excellent coaching, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at multiple levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field; advanced degree an asset.
Travel Requirement
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across Canada (40–60%). The remaining days will be in the head office downtown.
