About the role

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for Ocean Import Operations and Customer service and coordinating with the various stakeholders in the import process.

Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)

  • Coordinate with the overseas agent network to move international Ocean shipments
  • Receive, check and process international shipping documents for Ocean shipments
  • Liaise with the various stakeholders including the Shipping Lines, co-loaders, truckers and warehouses
  • Send documents to the customs brokers for clearance
  • Monitor shipments and respond to inquiries from clients
  • Ensure shipments are billed in a timely manner, vendor payables processed and comply with month end requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Must have at least one or more years of freight forwarding experience preferably in an import / export role or post-secondary education in international trade, logistics or related field
  • Good knowledge of Import / Export documentation
  • CargoWise experience would be an advantage
  • General knowledge of the freight forwarding NVOCC documentation and environment
