Join us! The Person Atheris is seeking a driven, organized and personable Business Development Manager to power the top of our sales funnel. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, this role is the engine of our pipeline, generating qualified conversations through outreach, events and network activation, and keeping every opportunity moving through disciplined follow-up and CRM management. The ideal candidate is an early-career professional with a high degree of emotional intelligence who can confidently represent Atheris in front of prospects, spark genuine interest, and build a healthy, well-organized pipeline that the senior team can cultivate and convert. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will: Pipeline generation & outreach
- Run outbound outreach campaigns to generate qualified conversations at volume
- Prospect at industry conferences and congresses, and help convert attendees into pipeline opportunities
- Support the client education series (webinars and events), using it as a cultivation channel
- Activate and mine existing firm and personal networks for referrals and warm introductions
- Support paid digital campaigns (LinkedIn, Instagram) in partnership with internal stakeholders Pipeline operations & CRM
- Own day-to-day CRM updates and data hygiene as the single source of truth for the pipeline
- Build and manage outreach sequences and cadences that keep conversations alive
- Own timely, consistent follow-up across all active opportunities
- Track leading activity metrics (conversations created, new opportunities, pipeline value) and report to the Senior Director Enablement & collaboration
- Continuously refresh credentials, case studies and pitch collateral
- Prepare briefing materials and meeting prep for the Senior Director and Vice President ahead of cultivation and pitch meetings
- Collaborate with client services, scientific strategy and marketing to keep messaging current and credible Essential Skills and Background
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific discipline; a recent MBA or MSc is a plus
- 1–4 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a scientific/commercial role. Consulting, agency, life sciences or professional services preferred
- Confident, personable communicator able to open conversations and represent the firm credibly with senior prospects
- Highly organized and tenacious, with strong follow-through and attention to detail
- CRM-fluent (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce) and comfortable with outreach and sequencing tools
- Genuine interest in life sciences and the pharmaceutical / biotech industry, with the ability to learn the science quickly
- High degree of emotional intelligence; thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
