The Opportunity - Registrar and Director, Enrolment Services (Permanent, Full-time)

Olds College is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our team as the Registrar and Director, Enrolment Services.

This is a critical, pivotal role that provides essential leadership and direction for a full range of student services, including Student Recruitment, Admissions, Reporting, Student Systems, Advising, Accounts, Awards, and Records. As the senior enrolment officer for the College, you will utilize Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM)-informed thinking to provide operational leadership and drive digital transformation, ensuring all systems are designed with the end user in mind. You will modernize the student experience from application to graduation by leveraging technology to create seamless and intuitive workflows.

  • Strategic Leadership: A professional capable of formulating strategic direction and ensuring strong synergy between administrative portfolios and institutional SEM objectives.
  • A Data-Driven Decision Maker: An individual who relies heavily on data and analysis, embedding ongoing assessment and metrics to drive evidence-based decision-making for internal and external audiences.
  • A Collaborative Approach: A trusted advisor who acts as a connector across the institute, building collaborative partnerships internally and representing the College externally with government departments and other organizations.
  • Positive Influence: A leader who fosters a positive, diverse, and inclusive work environment, managing the full employee lifecycle while holding a high-performing team accountable.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing comprehensive oversight for student services, leading registration, advising, retention, financial assistance, and records processes.
  • Developing and managing portfolio budgets, committing to continuous improvement in operational efficiencies, and addressing resource challenges innovatively.
  • Leading digital modernization by managing systems like Banner, SLATE, MyCreds, and Pay My Tuition to enhance real-time, student-centered service.
  • Guiding the SEM Coordination Team and acting as a key consultant in academic policy development, program revisions, and enrolment-related initiatives.
  • Mentoring and developing staff, providing coaching to enhance individual performance and ensuring the team meets its full accountabilities.

What you bring to the role:

  • A university degree is required, with a relevant post-graduate degree (e.g., business administration, information systems, educational administration) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a post-secondary education environment with a strong history of senior-level, progressive achievements and an understanding of registrar-related functions.
  • Proficient technical capabilities, including database systems, web-based tools, and at least two years of experience with student information systems.
  • Sophisticated written and oral communication skills, paired with the ability to navigate complex problem-solving and risk mitigation strategies.
