The Role
BGC is looking for a Facilities & Equipment (F&E) Coordinator to join our team. You will support the F&E Team with managing and maintaining equipment, maintaining facilities, and providing general admin support when needed. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment alongside our Admin Team, Engineers, Geoscientists, and other teams within BGC and will report to the F&E Manager. This role is based onsite and will require full time presence in the office.
You will gain valuable industry experience working at a multinational Applied Earth Sciences engineering firm while practicing our core values of One Team, Excellence, Curiosity, Common Sense, and Clarity.
Responsibilities Facilities:
- Report to the F&E Manager on all matters related to the office environment
- Assist with office build-outs, renovations and moves
- Coordinate with IT for all IT equipment set-up
- Hang pictures/diplomas and perform minor repairs around the office
- Conduct routine cleaning inspections with cleaners and F&E Manager
- Set-up and maintain furniture for employees, as well setup furniture for meetings, conferences, town halls, and other functions
- Ensure the alarm system is fully functional and manage alarms notifications
- Willing to attend to emergencies at a 24/7 basis at the office, when available
- Assist with fire and other emergency drills as directed by F&E Manager
- Manage and maintain BGC’s vehicles, and field trucks
- Perform cleaning of patio furniture whenever necessary
Equipment:
- Prepare, issue, and collect field equipment and supplies
- Utilize BGC’s asset tracking system and database management (including data entry)
- Track and report any equipment that is due for calibration or with an expiring warranty
- Inspect and clean field equipment, and report/coordinate issues with the F&E Manager
- Ensure equipment room is tidy and organized at all times
- Coordinate with the Admin Team when shipping field equipment and supplies to meet deadlines
- Pick-up and deliver field equipment and supplies to various locations throughout the city
General:
- Order supplies and coordinate with various suppliers/contractors
- Work with management to come up with budgets and or pricing options (quotes), as necessary
- Assist other BGC offices on matters related to facilities and equipment
- Review invoices received from suppliers/contractors, compare with work orders and send to accounting for payment
- Source products and develop a new supply chain as required by the F&E Manager
- Proactively suggest initiatives to improve operating practices
- Undertake occasional travels to other BGC offices or work sites
- Perform other tasks as required by the F&E Manager
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
- Proficient at MS Office suite with emphasis on Excel
- Comfortable learning new technology and software
- Familiar with the use of various hand tools and able to perform simple repairs around the office
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly
- Seek win-win solutions when problem solving
- Have a positive attitude and value teamwork
- Have a common-sense approach and sound critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated, with strong time management and task prioritization skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility with work hours during BGC’s busy field season to accommodate project location time zones
- Willingness to take on various tasks as requested
- Ability to undertake occasional travel to other BGC offices or work sites
Desired Education, Expired & Competencies
- Experience working in facilities and equipment
- Diploma in Facilities Management or Business Administration
- Good understanding of budget tracking and purchasing
- First Aid certification
Position Requirements
Driver’s License BGC requires that employees have a valid driver's license, and that employees can drive a field pickup truck. Upon hiring, BGC will require a driver’s abstract to allow for a safety review of your driving history.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. BGC's compensation package also includes a training allowance and a comprehensive medical and dental plan.
