About the role

We are looking for strategic, dynamic, and results-oriented Manager, Talent Programs to join our Global Talent team at Great West Lifeco. Reporting to the AVP, Global Executive Talent Development and Succession, the incumbent will play a program leadership role to develop, implement, and evaluate end-to-end core talent management programs in the areas of executive talent development and succession. This role works at the enterprise-wide level and collaborates with global Human Resources teams to ensure that talent strategies integrate, align, and support the achievement of key business objectives.

What you will do:

  • Continue to execute, refine, and manage the Lifeco’s Accelerated Development Program (LADP) including partnering with the institution, managing contracts, curriculum design, and identification, monitoring, and support to previous and current cohorts.

  • Leveraging talent data and analytics, identifies short and long-term programs and solutions to address current and future workforce capability gaps.

  • Define and report on strategic talent metrics for key talent pools to identify strengths/ gaps and support the design and implementation of talent pool development initiatives.

  • Design and execute talent acceleration programs to increase capability and visibility of diverse future leader talent.

  • Partner with HR business partners and business leaders to monitor and track meaningful future-focused development plans for key/ top enterprise talent.

  • Monitor and measure the efficacy of talent solutions, programs, and training, and continuously improves to ensure alignment with the evolving needs of the business.

  • Develops relationships with talent management industry professionals to learn current market trends and shares knowledge for internal use.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 5+ years talent management experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years overall experience in Human Resources, continuous process improvement or quality, and other Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or another relevant field is an asset.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Participative, influential, innovative, and strong program leader with experience operating at the executive level.
  • Strategic perspective with tactical implementation skills.
  • Highly seasoned knowledge of current market practices and trends in talent management, strategic workforce planning, and people analytics.
  • Proven business acumen with ability to translate business strategies into actionable and compelling talent development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success designing, building, and executing Talent Management initiatives with high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • “Hands-on” project manager with a business partner mindset who has the experience and confidence necessary to work with senior business leaders, HR leaders, and employees at all levels to deliver results.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while effectively managing changing priorities.
  • Able to navigate a complex, global organization, and support systems to deliver results, and work in a cross-functional environment.

The base salary for this position is between $76,400 - $141,400 maximum annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
