Job Description

POSITION: Production Labourer

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:
Basic Employee Responsibilities

Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
• Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment.
• Being responsible – on time for work, and take breaks during designated times.
• Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.

Position Specific Responsibilities

This is a general production worker role with various production-line duties performed as directed by supervisor. Examples of these include:

• Inspection of parts to be painted
• Operate paint booth, load and unload
• Move material to and from painting area
• Clean, drift, protect threads on all barrels prior to painting
• Operate cut off saw
• Wrap/stamp finished goods
• Follow instructions and safe working procedures
• Process work orders
• Regular machine and work area cleaning
• Regular preventive maintenance
• Other similar duties as requested by supervisor

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing.
• Ability to measure pieces using measuring equipment to verify that the size meets the specifications.
• Ability to work independently.
• When required, be part of a team, fellow operators and management to co-ordinate efforts to ensure that machines are used efficiently, and work priorities are well managed.
• Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience.

Physical Demands

• Periodic heavy lifting up to 5Olbs.
• Standing for 8 hours
• Machine shop environment
• Inside work
