Head of HR Strategic Planning

About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 2 days a week.

What You'll be Doing:

  • HR Strategic Operational Plan: Develop and align a long-term operational plan with business and HR strategies, ensuring stakeholder understanding, defined success metrics, and effective execution. Oversee progress and adapt as needed to achieve strategic objectives and drive organizational success.
  • Employee Engagement Operational Plan: Lead employee engagement efforts by embedding a culture that understands and values employee engagement, acquiring relevant data, integrating employee input into plans, and implementing strategies that enhance team connectivity and productivity. Regularly evaluate engagement levels and refine initiatives to achieve long-term strategic objectives.
  • HR Change Management: Develop, implement and oversee the change management framework for HR initiatives by creating strategic alignment, ensuring stakeholder engagement, resource allocation and communication excellence. Ensure all HR led changes and initiatives are sustained and embraced by the organization.
  • HR Project Management: Oversee strategic HR projects from conception through to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management, ensuring milestones are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • HR Shared Services: Under the umbrella of strategic HR project management, in the short-term, this role will also oversee the implementation of our HR Shared Services model.

What You'll Bring:

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. HR certification (CHRP, CHRL) are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR, with at least five of those years as a people leader, managing a team of high performing HR professionals.
  • Considerable knowledge of project management/planning best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to act as a thought leader and change agent
  • HRIS knowledge and experience with a system (Workday)
  • Experience in change management, program design and roll out plans

$137,300.00 - $187,300.00

Short Term Incentive Plan

Competitive Compensation: The salary range for this position is listed above. Giant Tiger will consider factors such as experience, skills and internal equity to ensure you are paid competitively.

Short Term Incentive Plan: This role includes an annual bonus opportunity based on the percentage of base salary listed above, with payout determined by company and individual performance.

Retirement Support: This role is eligible for company-funded retirement savings, with contributions made on your behalf. The specific retirement program and contribution level are noted above.
