WHO WE ARE:
OpenText Enterprise Architecture and Transformation is a strategic partner for our business lines, and leads the development of digital strategies, architectures, and the transformation of business strategies into technical roadmaps, programs, and projects. The team’s pursuit of efficiencies and extreme automation through process (re)engineering and technology, enables them to shape the culture of OpenText IT and accelerate the delivery of enterprise architecture solutions.

OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Finops Specialist, FinOps will oversee and coordinate multiple structural initiatives- e.g. Implementation of Enterprise Grade FinOps tools, deliver cloud cost optimization opportunities, improve automation capabilities and inform long term roadmap for the function.

Role will report to Senior Manager, FinOps and will be pivotal in advancing the overall FinOps agenda.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • FinOps Strategic Programs:
  • Lead enterprise-wide FinOps optimization and maturity initiatives e.g. Oversee multiple initiatives to proactively optimize cloud workloads and services
  • Establish FinOps governance framework and best practices E.g. Support Business Units and Engineering Teams in optimizing their cloud cost based on their business needs and resources.
  • Hyperscaler/Vendor Management:
  • Deliver optimization across hyperscalers- e.g. Savings Plan, Reserved Instance purchases, Committed User Discounts etc.
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture teams to optimize cost performance of cloud services through education and process changes -e.g. shifting FinOps left
  • Cloud Financial Management
  • Responsible for creating a roadmap and insightful reports on cloud cost optimization initiatives.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects as required

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Networking or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Foundations Certifications)
  • Experience:
  • At least 5-10 years of experience with enterprise cloud platforms in an engineering/operational/financial management role
  • Experience with public cloud cost management and optimization on AWS or GCP or Azure
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong data analysis and financial modelling skills
  • A strong desire to understand how technical cloud infrastructure options impact costs.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and execute long-term technical roadmaps
  • Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities and trends, develop best practice processes and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership
  • You will be a trusted partner to Business Units and Finance in terms of budgeting and forecasting cloud spend
  • Ability to build relationship across business lines and departments and positively influence key stakeholders through knowledge transfer, expertise recommendations and strategic thinking
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in driving enterprise-wide architectural and transformation initiatives
  • Track record of influencing technical decisions across multiple team
