1.0 FTE (term) Grade 7 Homeroom Teacher, Trafalgar Middle School
About the role
Trafalgar Middle School is looking for a Grade 7 Homeroom Teacher to join our high functioning team.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated successful classroom experience in an intermediate classroom. It is expected that the successful applicant will work with and follow the school-based team plans for inclusion of all students, behavior expectations, and continue to implement whole school wide programs related to school and district strategic plans.
The position will be 1.0 FTE (term) from September 1, 2026 - January 3, 2027.
The incumbent is then returning part time on January 4th, the successful
candidate will then continue Thursdays and Fridays at 0.33 FTE (term) until
June 30, 2027.
The awarded applicant will be energetic, collaborative and organized
individual and is committed to student learning. The successful candidate is
expected to plan, prepare and present curriculum related to intermediate
grades and apply current pedagogy to support student success.
Teachers applying for this position must possess the following skills and attributes:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, administration, and parents
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible
- Implement and direct programs of inclusion for all students
- Demonstrated skills in current pedagogy and practice
- Implement whole school programs, and expectations
- Contribute to building a positive school culture
- Demonstrated experience working with School Based Teams to enhance student learning
Required qualifications:
A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch;
