Req ID:506569
At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in product variability management, modular architectures, and digital engineering tools in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in enabling product re-use, standardization, and digital continuity across the product lifecycle, supporting our platforming and modularization strategy. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Product Directors, Chief Engineers, Program Managers, Configuration Managers, and more), collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the variability model and tools meet business and technical needs, and drive continuous improvement in processes and methods.
You’ll specifically take care of developing, maintaining, and optimizing the product variability model and associated digital tools (such as PLEiADE, DOORS, PLM4A), but also facilitate training and knowledge transfer on variability management and tool best practices.
We’ll look to you for:
- Defining and managing product variants to meet market needs while minimizing complexity
- Developing strategies for modularization and standardization
- Building and continuously improving the product variability model in digital tools
- Analyzing variability impacts on cost, quality, and lead time
- Ensuring controlled introduction of new variants or changes to existing ones
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align variability models with business and technical needs
- Driving continuous improvement in variability management processes, methods, and tools
- Ensuring adherence to internal standards, processes, and regulatory requirements
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Experience or understanding of product variability management and modular architectures
- Knowledge of digital engineering tools such as PLEiADE, DOORS, and PLM4A

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Proactive mindset in driving digital transformation and continuous improvement
