Your role at Baxter
This role will be responsible for financial, operational and system analysis within the logistics department touching both transportation and warehouse activities. Responsible for Performance Analysis, JDE System Management and Logistics. The analyst will be responsible for leading daily operational activities with the 3PL including, but not limited to: volume management, risks and opportunities, customer care communication, and holiday planning. In addition, a key component of this role is to analyze performance within the Logistics area and recommend improvements and proactively implement solutions designed to maximize asset utilization, drive costs out of the warehousing and transportation network and efficiently ensure customer service expectations are consistently attained.
What you'll be doing
- Development and execution of daily and weekly cost tracking and reporting analytics
- Conduct analytics as well as cost studies to support logistics negotiations plus rate proposals.
- Execute cost/benefit analysis required for operations projects.
- Assist in short and long term planning strategies to include immediate and/or phased action plans for high impact, high valued projects.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining productivity and performance reports.
- Invoice Processing and reconciliation
- Ensure JDE system is set up for success
- Work directly with 3PL to review KPIs and identify gaps with aligned corrective actions
- Lead and participate in monthly meetings where KPIs and project action plans are reviewed
- Facilitate daily execution meetings with 3PL, Supply Planning and QA
- Lead and support QBRs with 3PL
- Support Operational Excellence/continuous improvement initiatives
- Primary point contact for customer service department for investigation, resolution or escalation of specific customer delivery issues
- Ensure process is in place that correctly and timely identifies logistics service issues, categorizes those issues, defines owners, corrective actions and preventative measures
- Investigate all EDI error reports and identify root cause and preventative corrections
- Interact with customer service on deliveries with special shipping instructions, short lead times, returns and redeliveries
- Obtain POD’s from carriers as required
- Provide transportation support on new product launches
- Support JDE enhancements projects, testing and training
- Obtain carrier quotes and define optimal delivery solutions for ad hoc customer special requests
- Work with finance team to support preparation for the monthly financial and operational reviews with the 3PL provider.
- Compile and present monthly logistics dashboard including financial and service metrics as specified
- Identify and support various MIPs designed to optimize costs across the distribution and warehousing network including off-schedule and expedite delivery mitigation
- Serve as a SME on assigned projects and tasks
- Support the commercial team in preparing customer RFP responses relating to logistics/distribution
- Provide total logistics support as required for all Baxter transportation and warehousing including frozen, chilled and ambient product.
What you'll bring
- College/University Education
- CITT or APICS certification and/or working towards
- Specialization in transportation, warehousing, logistics or operations courses
- Logistics management operational expertise
- Intermediate to expert level of MS Excel
- Basic understanding of data import, manipulation and file/report development
- Detailed understanding of domestic and international logistics and transportation
- Inventory planning and scheduling
- Statistical and data analysis
- Strong process improvement and development
- Systems experience including routing, load planning and scheduling
- Strong ERP understanding as it relates to TMS, WMS and transportation and logistics planning
- Operations financial analytics capability
- Logistics Analyst experience in CPG or Pharma industry
- Supply Chain experience in inventory management, supply planning
- Six Sigma training
- 3+ years experience in transportation, distribution or warehousing
- 1+ years experience in CPG or Pharma industry
- 1+ years experience using JDE
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical and business problem solving skills
- Ability to manage and address conflict
- Ability to prioritize and focus on defined tasks
- Ability to forge cross functional relationships
