Unlike many fleet environments where you'll see the same equipment every day, you'll gain experience working on a wide variety of heavy truck makes and models, trailers, and specialized logging and mining equipment. Every day presents new diagnostic and repair challenges that broaden your technical knowledge, strengthen your troubleshooting abilities, and help you become a more versatile technician. Paid Well. We offer more than just a competitive hourly rate. Journeyman hourly wage of $47.45-$56.45, based on experience, certifications, and qualifications Additional hourly premiums through manufacturer training, certifications, and licensing Health Spending Account Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits Tool and Boot allowance Company-issued service laptop Ongoing manufacturer and OEM training The Role This position focuses on diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and CVIP inspections on Freightliner and Western Star trucks while working as part of a collaborative Service team. Repair & Maintenance Perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy duty trucks Complete CVIP inspections and related repairs Test vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications Coordinate with Parts Technicians to ensure required components are available or ordered Troubleshooting Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, engine, and aftertreatment systems Review repair concerns provided by Service Advisors Diagnose faults using OEM diagnostic equipment and procedures Communicate repair findings, recommended repairs, and estimated completion timelines with Service Advisors Documentation Accurately record labour time, diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used Complete repair orders and inspection documentation thoroughly and accurately Ensure documentation meets company, OEM, warranty, and regulatory requirements Professional Development Participate in ongoing OEM, manufacturer, and in-house technical training Continue developing your diagnostic and repair skills on modern heavy truck systems Maintain certifications and stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices Share knowledge and support apprentice development as opportunities arise Schedule Four-day work week Full-time, year-round employment Home every night and no weekend shifts Education, Certification & Experience Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification required (Red Seal preferred) Valid CVIP licence required Freightliner and/or Western Star experience is considered an asset Experience with Detroit and Cummins diagnostic software is considered an asset Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, engines, and aftertreatment Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence is an asset 3 Things to Be Successful in This Role Take pride in producing quality work the first time Bring a team-first attitude and support those around you Commit to continuous learning and developing your technical skills Other Details Full-time position based in Cranbrook, British Columbia Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates We welcome all qualified candidates to apply.
