About the role
Mowi Canada West is seeking an Incubation Supervisor to join our Freshwater team, based at Big Tree Creek & Dalrymple Hatcheries. Reporting to the Hatchery Managers and Assistant Managers, the Incubation Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the hatchery’s incubation systems. This hands-on role supervises and works alongside a small team of hatchery technicians to oversee daily incubation activities and contribute to producing top quality product in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 plus 2 years of experience in salmon farming or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Post-secondary aquaculture certificate or diploma preferred.
- Good critical thinking abilities, decision making abilities, and sound judgement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate daily activities, manage competing priorities, and meet production timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships and support the resolution of day-to-day workplace issues.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Aquafarmer, word processing, spreadsheets & databases).
