Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a National Sales Manager in Toronto, ON. National Sales Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and driving a company's sales activities and revenue growth across the entire country. The role involves developing and executing national sales strategies, managing regional teams, and nurturing key client relationships. National Sales Manager reports to Vice President.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises all account managers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive national sales strategies and action plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and company objectives.
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of account managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure individual and collective success.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics (KPIs) and market trends to identify new opportunities for growth and make data-informed decisions.
- Client & Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and major accounts, negotiating and closing large agreements to drive significant growth.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Collaboration: Liaise with Marketing, Product Development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product launches, promotional activities, and consistent brand messaging.
- Market Insight: Perform research to identify new potential customers, market opportunities, and competitive activities, adjusting strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
- Recruitment & Training: Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new sales talent, ensuring high-quality staff development and ongoing training.
- Travel: Travel as needed to meet with regional teams, clients, and attend industry conferences and trade shows.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven work experience as a National Sales Manager, Sales Director, or similar role with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.
- Experience managing and leading a high-performance, geographically dispersed sales team.
- Strong understanding of sales principles, best practices, and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven approach.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- 5 – 10 years National Sales Manager experience.
