JOB DESCRIPTION
AAA Canada is looking for an Assembler Fitter to bring expertise and value to our team. Under the supervision of the team leader, the candidate will be responsible for interpreting blueprints as well as assembling, adjusting, and installing mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and visual components for flight simulators, while ensuring compliance with quality and precision standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, guidelines, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Plan, mark, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet metal parts, plates, or other structural components.
- Perform necessary operations for assembling, adjusting, repairing, modifying, and installing mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts or assemblies.
- Manufacture parts, carry out complex adjustments, and troubleshoot errors or defects.
- Assemble, align, and install visual components, including the retention system and mirror (with vacuum control system).
- Prepare, install, and adjust visual systems according to required precision standards.
- Install fasteners and rivets in compliance with blueprints and procedures.
- Use measuring instruments, assembly tools, and machine tools (band saw, manual and hydraulic shears, profiling bender).
- Produce rolled and embossed parts.
- Apply spot welding standards, occupational health and safety rules, and precision requirements.
Skills and qualifications
- D.E.P. in Aircraft Sheet Metal or Aircraft Structural Assembly, or equivalent.
- High School Diploma required.
- Any other combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents (blueprints, sketches, procedures).
- Knowledge of material properties and forming methods.
- Skilled in assembling, aligning, and installing mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and visual components.
- Familiarity with visual systems and precision work.
- Ability to perform modifications, repairs, and adjustments.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards (including WHMIS).
- Strong attention to detail, rigor, and accuracy.
- Bilingualism (French - English) in oral and written communication is a major asset for communication in the multilingual environment of the customer site and technical documentation.
