As Director, Medical Services, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of mental health and addictions care in Thames Valley. You will provide leadership and oversight for the Medical Services portfolio, ensuring effective planning, organization, staffing, and ongoing evaluation of the medical programs. You will apply strategic, long-term thinking to enhance internal operations, address emerging challenges, and leverage opportunities, while working collaboratively with the organization’s leadership team.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
-What you'll be making - $53.06-$58.31 per hour -When you'll work- 70 hours over two-week period; Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm -Where you’ll work– The organization’s administrative office is located in London, ON, however, this position will provide support throughout our service region including Middlesex, South Huron, Oxford, and Elgin counties. Travel across the organization’s service region will be required. -**What your benefits will be –**After a 90-day waiting period, will be eligible for extended healthcare benefits -Your pension plan– Immediately enrolled in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop the overarching plan for each of the Medical Services’ programs
- Develops program outcome goals and indicators as well as evaluation mechanisms to ensure each program meets needs of individuals-served, agency and Ministry standards and or Municipal standards
- Establishes and implements internal operational policies, guidelines and procedures
- When requested by the VP, Services and Supports undertakes the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of special projects
- Develops new initiatives and effective management of a variety of Medical Services’ programs and services to support the strategic direction of the organization
- Develops, implements, and analyzes short- and long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programs
- Develops and oversees the delivery of CMHA TVAMHS’s medical services initiatives within its catchment area
- Monitors the day-to-day delivery of programs and services
- Provides oversight on program standards, using evidence-informed practice
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations and government entities to expand resources and support for services
- Collaborates with other departmental leaders to ensure the maintenance of high visibility in local communities (representation at local tables, where appropriate).
- Advocate for policy changes and funding that support the expansion and sustainability of services
- Serve as the public face of Medical Services, representing the organization with professionalism, compassion, and credibility; participate in speaking engagements and public relations opportunities to bring awareness and attention to service needs in our communities
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Extended Leadership Team (XLT) to develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization and initiatives that contribute to risk management
- When required, represent the SLT at Board of Directors meetings and provide input on strategic objectives
- Conduct regular meetings with all partners to communicate relevant organizational information, obtain staff input and feedback, plan and evaluate program services
- Collaborate on research initiatives with partners at the local, provincial, and national levels when it is ethical, strategic, and beneficial
Additional Responsibilities:
- The Director will also have responsibilities related to people leadership, financial and resource management, and quality, risk, and performance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Police Criminal Record Check Requirements Successful candidates must have a satisfactory Police Criminal Record Check completed.
We require the following qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in relevant field of study (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership / supervisory / management capacity
- Valid driver’s licence for regional travel, as required
- Current, satisfactory Police Record Check
We prefer the following qualifications: Experience/Knowledge
- Public speaking; comfort with media relations and advocacy
- Experience in developing and overseeing mental health and addictions programs within the non-profit sector
- Experience with, and detailed knowledge of, mental health and addictions work
- Experience with navigating funding agreements
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience with budgets and managing program finances
- Demonstrated ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior leaders in various levels of government, social housing partners and other relevant stakeholders and funding partners
- Knowledge and understanding of philosophies, practices, models and frameworks associated with mental health and addictions services
