Primary Objective of the Position:
The Fleet Engineer position is a supporting role within aircraft maintenance & engineering. The primary responsibility of the person in this position is to support and assist the Manager of Engineering to effectively manage and monitor the day-to-day fleet aircraft maintenance requirements, ensuring that both technical dispatch and operational efficiencies are met in accordance with Cargojet’s MCM / MPM Manual & Technical documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide initial assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives
- Evaluation and preparation of cost/benefit analysis for Service Bulletins and other technical information.
- To disseminate technical information to staff as required through implementation of fleet campaigns.
- To provide technical support to MCC and too provide technical input to Material Control for Rotable repair work scopes.
- To assist in work specification development for engine shop visits, coordination and oversight of heavy maintenance activities.
- To provide assistance to the Reliability Program and provide delay analysis and corrective action programs.
- To provide technical input to Planning for heavy maintenance.
- Assist with aircraft weight and balance control & with maintaining NAV/DATA / GPS Terrain Data and ELT databases.
- To assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
- To assist with revisions to Minimum Equipment List (MEL) manuals as required.
- Assist in preparing Quarterly ETOPS reporting to Boeing.
- Be knowledgeable with all company and government manuals/documents pertaining to the work.
- Communicate with Duty Managers and Maintenance senior Management.
- Responsible for your training, remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements to function in the assigned role
- Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Manager of Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Transport Canada AME M2 License.
- 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Type Rating on B757, B767 or B777 or experience on Transport Category Aircraft considered an asset.
- Ability to obtain an RAIC and AVOP.
- Ability to use computers: intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
