About The Role

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join the Finance team at Argen’s Head office in Kelowna. This role focuses on high-volume finance operations, including accounts payable, banking, and transaction processing.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate daily execution and supporting a structured, timely month-end close. The Accounting Associate will work closely with the broader accounting team to maintain clean financial data, enforce standardized processes, and identify issues early.

What You’ll Do

Accounts Payable & Supplier Processing

Process vendor invoices accurately and on time (PO and non-PO) Match purchase orders, receiving, and invoices; identify and escalate discrepancies Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Assist with preparation of supplier payment runs (wires, PADs, cheques) Process freight and recurring supplier invoices

Banking & Transaction Processing

Perform daily banking entries and transaction posting Record and categorize automated bank transactions Support monthly bank and cash reconciliations Assist in monitoring cash activity and identifying discrepancies Maintain documentation and audit support for all cash movements

Credit Cards & Expense Processing

Process corporate credit card transactions and expense reports (Concur) Ensure completeness of receipts and appropriate expense coding Assist with monthly credit card reconciliations Assist with bank reconciliation preparation and follow-up items.

Month-End Close Support

Assist with account reconciliations (AP, cash, credit cards) Support working paper preparation and documentation Ensure month-end documentation is complete and properly organized Identify discrepancies and escalate items requiring review

General Accounting Support & Process Improvement

Maintain organized digital records to support audit readiness Respond to vendor and internal inquiries Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual work Support finance projects, system enhancements, and process improvements

What You Bring

Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Bookkeeping 1 - 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or AP experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow structured processes and maintain documentation Proficiency in Excel; ERP experience (QAD preferred) Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and initiative Collaborative approach and excellent work ethic
