The Accounts Receivable Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing, managing, and supporting the performance and productivity of the Accounts Receivable department.

Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

People Leadership:

  • Assign, communicate, monitor, as well as hold self and team accountable to achieving set goals.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Acknowledge and appreciate positive behaviors and performance with recognition and rewards.

  • Facilitate conflict resolution with a commitment to sound judgment and fairness

  • Provide training and support to the AR team in reconciliation, error resolution, and report creation.

  • Participate in the selection, training, coaching, and supervision of personnel to ensure attainment of high individual productivity.

Compliance, Forecasting, and Process Enhancement

  • Develop and maintain Corporate Credit Policy and procedures.

  • Timely assessment of the creditworthiness of existing and/or new customers by evaluating applications, financial transactions, and credit/payment history.

  • Maintain the integrity of AR subledger by ensuring timelines and accuracy of key transactions (i.e. cash application, miscellaneous reconciliation, dispute management).

  • Improve and maintain DSO.

  • Become familiar with the company’s enterprise resource management (ERP) computer system (Magstar) and suggest and help implement system improvements.

External Vendor and Supplier Interactions

  • Work with sales, operations, customer service departments to provide the best customer experience.

  • Responsible for the administration of major customers, including account reconciliations, compliance monitoring, etc.

  • Collaborate with the customer representatives by providing analytical and operational support.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance or Accounting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience (over 5 years). People leadership experience would be considered an asset.

  • Demonstrates technological proficiency necessary for handling the technical databases and programs essential for job responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates analytical proficiency to generate, interpret, and act upon relevant reports and data.

  • Contributes to a positive work environment through adherence to established policies and embodiment of organizational culture.

  • Ability to engage with internal and external customers in a positive manner to build rapport and foster collaborative relationships.

  • Ability to resolve conflict and handle challenging situations with a calm and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure smooth execution of job tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to practice sound judgment and make decisions in alignment with goals and company policies.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and direction to achieve set goals.
