What is the opportunity? Join RBC as a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain stable, scalable data assets in Snowflake that power enterprise reporting and analytics across the organization. You will work closely with analytics, business intelligence, and stakeholder teams to create reusable, well-documented data infrastructure that enables self-service reporting in Power BI. This role works in the office 3 to 4 days a week. What will you do? Design and implement robust data models and transformations in Snowflake that serve as the foundation for reporting Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into Snowflake with high reliability and performance Create modular, well-documented data assets (views, tables, procedures) that can be leveraged across multiple reporting and analytics use cases Monitor and optimize query performance, data warehouse design, and compute utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness and scalability Collaborate with BI developers to structure Snowflake objects for optimal Power BI connectivity and reporting performance Establish and maintain data lineage documentation, naming conventions, and best practices for the data platform Implement role-based access controls, data quality checks, and lineage tracking Troubleshoot data issues, support stakeholders, and maintain data pipeline stability What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role Advanced proficiency in Snowflake (data modeling, SQL optimization, warehouse design) Strong SQL skills with experience in complex transformations Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines Familiarity with cloud data platforms and distributed computing concepts Understanding of dimensional modeling and BI tool integration Experience with version control and CI/CD practices Nice to Have Experience with dbt (data build tool) or similar transformation frameworks Knowledge of Power BI and BI best practices Python or similar scripting language proficiency Snowflake certifications Experience with data quality and monitoring tools What’s in it for you?
