Our Business Intelligence team empowers decision making using leading edge science and analytics. We strive to deliver a single version of truth, by providing our business partners with access to comprehensive data and valuable insights to help our organization achieve operational excellence.
As a BI Operations Specialist, you will work autonomously while providing first line support in investigating and resolving production issues, proactively monitoring schedules, and participating in change management processes. You will also give directions and train less experienced colleagues and review their work in areas of developing expertise. You will build knowledge and experience of BI operations, the assets, and the processes and understand their business purpose and value.
How you will create impact:

Perform diagnostic analysis using appropriate methods, troubleshoot and debug issues, recommend improvements, and implement resolutions.

Execute successfully in one or more aspects of the Production Operations and Tools: Incident Management tools, BI tool architecture, Version control and release management products, Analytic Services, Database management Systems, Data Integration and Workflow Applications, and ETL services.

Provide coaching and direction to team members with minimal oversight.

Understand the life cycle of data from source system to data and reporting layer.

Communicate findings and solutions to the team in an autonomous, timely, and effective manner.

Engage project teams to help resolve complex issues, communicate discovered problematic solutions, and communicate enhancements through incident investigations.

To join our team:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in the Business Intelligence or other relevant field.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
- ITIL, PMI, Change Management and/or LEAN Certifications are considered an asset.
- You have experience solving standard problems by analyzing possible solutions by using our experience, judgment, and precedent & challenging status quo.
- You have good knowledge and understanding of technical problem and data analysis, programing and coding, data warehousing and data management, architecture, and design.
- Experience with following technologies is required: TSQL, Stored Procedures, and Version Control tool experience (Azure DevOps, Git CLI).
- Experience with following technologies is an asset: Azure Synapse, Azure DevOps, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Databricks, Fabric, YAML, R, Python, PySpark and various Python packages (fastAPI, dash), Posit Connect, Splunk, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Automation and ETL tools, ServiceNow, Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira).
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
