This position requires a high level of engagement with team members, stakeholders, and applicants. The successful candidate will be expected to work out of 777 Memorial Avenue, Orillia five (5) days a week.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 6,400 uniformed officers, 2,900 civilian employees and 530 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. Corporate Communications Bureau supports the OPP with our team of dedicated communications and strategic planning experts who provide internal and external strategic communications and organizational change products. Our office is a full-service, dedicated and skilled team of strategic communications advisors, media relations officers, public information advisors, social media developers, issues advisor and Correspondence Unit.
We provide communications services and support to our internal and external audiences, key partners and stakeholders. We are responsible for providing timely and accurate information to the public, via the media and social media. We provide the OPP with proactive, high-level communications services and address sensitive and/or contentious issues, particularly during times of crisis when the potential impact on public safety and security is high.

##About the job
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality design solutions that meet client needs and are completed within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Provide a range of graphic design services including design concepts, layout and production of print and digital graphic products.
- Design visual identifiers, marketing materials, manuals, posters, programs, invitations and other publications.
- Support provincial strategies developed within the Bureau, as well as for other OPP and approved clients.
- Ensure a professional visual representation of the OPP.

###Mandatory requirements
- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
###Graphic Design Expertise
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of graphic design concepts, usability, accessibility design and industry-standard graphics software and applications.
- Demonstrated expertise with desktop publishing and graphic design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, and In-Design.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to ensure compliance.
###Creativity and Strategic Thinking
- Demonstrated knowledge of calibration of colour scales, operating a digital and photo imagery system and maintaining an electronic database of images.
- Ability to apply knowledge of offset print, multiple colour print processes and digital print processes.
- You can develop viable, practical graphic design solutions to meet clients' needs.
###Customer Service and Prioritization
- Proven ability to prioritize and multitask to complete assigned work within deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with clients regarding deadlines and project deliverables.
- Ability to work in a close-knit, self-directed team environment.
###Communication
- Ability to interpret client requirements for design, and engage in productive dialogue to define and finalize goals.
- Written communication to organize ideas and write logically to develop design plans and correspondence.
- Ability to present concepts and recommendations to OPP clients and managers.
- Proofreading skills to identify missing information or errors in documents, graphic designs, digital platforms and to recommend or develop solutions.
