Your Opportunity

The Brand Manager is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team at Huron University. Serving as a senior marketing and communications professional, this role is responsible for defining, protecting, and advancing the Huron University brand across internal and external channels. This role blends strategic leadership, creative vision, and brand stewardship with a storytelling expertise to ensure consistent, compelling engagement with students, alumni, donors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the brand steward, developing governance policies and ensuring consistent application of Huron’s brand standards and visual identity across all platforms and touchpoints.
  • Lead and support initiatives to enhance and evolve Huron’s brand identity, contributing to the creative direction of campaigns, marketing materials, and other institutional messaging.
  • Provide senior-level counsel to leadership and staff on brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity decisions.
  • Protect and elevate the University’s reputation by creating unified and consistent messaging and proactively managing potential brand risks.
  • Direct internal and external creative teams to uphold high standards in design, targeted storytelling, and consistent branding.
  • Oversee the development of donor proposals, stewardship communications, and institutional reporting to ensure alignment with brand strategy.
  • Lead the creation of high-impact, long-form storytelling for web, reports, and other channels.
  • Monitor brand performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in brand management, marketing, or communications.
  • Experience within the post-secondary sector, particularly with an understanding of Advancement and Recruitment activities.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in brand strategy, creative direction, and visual identity management.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on strategic thinking, brand visioning, and maintaining brand integrity.
  • High attention to detail, with strong analytical and proofreading capabilities.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience: $85,000 - $95,000
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for enrollment in Huron’s Pension and Benefit plans.
