Role Description The Application Engineer role at FANUC America Corporation is a full-time, on-site position based in North York, ON. The Application Engineer will design, configure, and implement robotic and automation solutions to meet customer requirements, including system setup, programming, testing, and optimization. This role collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and customer teams to develop concepts, prepare technical proposals, support installations, and troubleshoot system performance. The Application Engineer will document solutions, provide training and technical guidance to customers, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include on-site support, problem-solving, and continuous improvement of application designs to enhance productivity and reliability in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

Strong technical skills in robotics, CNC systems, or industrial automation, with experience integrating hardware and software in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in programming and configuring automation systems (e.g., robot programming languages, PLCs, motion control, or related control systems). Solid foundation in engineering principles, supported by a degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation, and translate customer requirements into practical solutions. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and providing clear guidance to customers on-site. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Comfort working in an on-site industrial environment, with willingness to travel locally as needed for customer support and project activities. Prior experience with FANUC products, factory automation projects, or manufacturing processes is an asset.
