About the role
Our Distribution group is currently looking to add a Utilities Labourer to our team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.
Reporting to the Lead Hand, we are seeking an experienced construction Labourer to help install shallow-utilities (power, gas and telecommunications) in new subdivisions in and around the Edmonton area. This position requires the ability to work long hours working outdoors, working as a cohesive group.
Duties And Responsibilities
Set telecom peds, precast bases, sanding trench, moving material
Lay power cable, telecom pipe, gas pipe in trenches up to 1.5m deep Operate jumping-jacks, and other handheld or portable equipment Operate skidsteer and backhoe at times safely onsite Read and understand construction drawings for specific tasks given Complete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assigned Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
Experience in a team-oriented construction environment
Must have a valid Class-5 driver's license and an acceptable drivers abstract Must have own vehicle to get to site Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time Must be flexible to working varying hours Strong team member with a positive attitude
Benefits
This position offers an hourly rate of $23/hr.
