About the role

Business Development Rep (BDR) – Ground Floor AI Start-Up

Location: Toronto (In office or Hybrid)

Compensation: $70k - $90k uncapped

Reports to: Head of Growth

Status: Full-Time

Opener is rewriting how CPG brands get into retail.

We’re an AI-powered sales platform turning cold outreach into warm leads at scale. Brands use Opener to land more retail deals without adding headcount. We have 50+ customers, US based VC investors, ex Google & Shopify engineers, elite advisors, and a clear roadmap to Series A.

Now we’re looking for a hungry, high-velocity BDR to join us on the ground floor.

What You’ll Do

  • Top of funnel focus to book demos for our Head of Sales
  • Work with our growth team who is doing cold outreach
  • Manage pipeline in HubSpot and keep everything clean, fast, and moving
  • Engage cold & warm leads via email, LinkedIn, and other channels (we’ll support you with tools and messaging)
  • Collaborate directly with leadership on sales strategy, messaging, and experiments
  • Help us scale from early traction to $1M+ ARR and a Series A raise

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years in sales, BDR/SDR, or similar roles—ideally in CPG, SaaS or agency

  • Ambitious, coachable, and obsessed

    with growth (yours and the company’s)

  • Fluent in CRM workflows (HubSpot experience = big plus)

  • Confident communicator—can own a sales call and ask strong questions

  • Tech-curious: You don’t need to know AI inside-out, but you’re eager to learn

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to CPG, retail, or eCommerce
  • Experience running outbound campaigns (cold email, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Past startup or 0→2 experience
