Job Description
Aramark is recruiting a part-time Registered Dietitian for our food service operation at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. This is an 18-month contract position.
The Registered Dietitian is responsible to for providing support to managers, operators the student body and faculty. The Registered Dietitian operates in all facets of dietetics, food safety and sustainability by advising and executing functions, activities, programs, changes, and training.
This is a 20-hour workweek with a flexible schedule and can be a remote position. The requirement to be on-site at Queen’s University is 1 day bi-weekly, and complimentary overnight accommodation can be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides support and direction to Managers and Operators in all facets listed in job summary
- Provides guidance to staff and faculty on healthy eating habits across campus in all dining spaces
- Provides individualized counseling for students regarding topics such as vegetarianism/veganism in the dining halls, digestive health, allergen management and sports nutrition
- Continuously updates nutrition/sustainability knowledge through current research and education
- Works with managers and chefs to assist in the development of various menus (seasonal menus, nutritionally adequate, focus on vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and allergies) following Aramark Standard Menu Development and Purchasing Practices
- Performs food safety audits and follow ups
- Provides food safety and allergy training to Front Line Associates
- Monitors food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional safety and sanitation quality standards
- Provides and arranges health related training
- Develops policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in promoting healthy lifestyles

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree in Food and Nutrition
- Must be an active member in good standing of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Certified in Food Safety Training or willing to acquire
- Experience and interest in Food Service Operations
- Effective communication and strong organizational skills
- Exercises a high degree of professionalism in daily duties
- Strong leadership skills and self-directed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
