Accenture Infrastructure and Capital Projects is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing integrated consulting solutions on complex capital projects, including Program and Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Technical Advisory, Construction Management, and Technology Integration Services. (Internal Title: Engineering III)
- Resolve day to day issues and conflicts that arise among designers and other stakeholders over duration of the contract
- Direct engineers/designers to ensure changes to contract documents are done promptly and completely
- Collaborate with engineering teams, operations and other key stakeholders to carry out the design and implementation of multi-year multi-million-dollar projects
- Conduct/attend meetings with external agencies and government departments as required
- Prepare Board Reports as required on various project matters
- Prepare project status updates for inclusion into various reports e.g. Project Summary
- Reports, and project presentations to senior management
- Maintain competency by attending seminars and courses (internal and external) in areas of technical, contractual and professional development related to job requirements
- Take professional responsibility for work performed under their direct supervision as required by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Assist in the development and/or implementation of procedures relating to areas of responsibility
- Prepare and reviews project administration documents
- Substitute for the Project Manager, as required
- Demonstrate behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an Engineering area of specialty
- Experience in a transit operating environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a related area of specialty
- University degree in Civil Engineering, combined with extensive experience in the areas of projects/construction and engineering management of heavy construction and/or large multi-disciplined projects
Licenses OR Certifications:
- Holding recognized PEng. licensure in the province of practice
Skills and Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices combined with a comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design
- Familiarity with project management information systems and reporting as it relates to control of scope, scheduling and cost
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of the Construction Act
- Thorough understanding of prevailing engineering means and methods
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in other applicable engineering-related software
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
- Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
- Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
- Effectively lead a small engineering team
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
- Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
