Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. – Internship Opportunity

Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. has an opportunity available for a Partnerships and

Community OutreachIntern to join our team!

This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college

or university) and is a required component of their academic program. Students must be eligible

to complete this internship through their school in order to be considered.

Reporting to the Manager, Partnerships and Community Outreach, the Student Intern will support

the expansion and enhancement of the Organization’s strategic partnerships and sponsorship

initiatives. Through this placement, the intern will assist in identifying potential partners,

maintaining client relationships, and providing essential operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for prospecting, researching, and identifying the strategic fit of potential

clients.

  • Create customized and innovative partnership and/or advertising solutions that drive

business results for potential clients.

  • Identify and proactively communicate partnership solutions that generate results,

revenue, and retention through advertising and sponsorships.

  • Identify and generate revenue by assisting in procuring vending solutions that meet the

needs of our visitors.

  • Develop good working relationships with vending partners and oversee the vending

machine operation day-to-day to ensure sales are being optimized.

  • Develop good working relationships with clients by providing prompt and excellent sales

and after-sales service and support to drive results and retention.

  • Identify and communicate suggestions for improvement in Partnerships to the Manager

of Partnerships and Community Outreach.

  • Responsible for the creation of solutions to resolve client and customer issues related to

partnerships

groups

  • Develop skills in writing partnership proposals, sponsorship decks, and outreach

materials

  • Gaining exposure to professional correspondence and follow-up strategies
  • Build on soft skills such as time management and adaptability

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in full-time studies in a post-secondary program (business, marketing,

sport management, sponsorship, development management, or a related field)

  • Legally authorize to participate in a work placement in Canada
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrates strong interest in business development and community outreach
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple

projects and timelines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
  • A police vulnerable sector screen check will be required for the successful candidate

Term & Honorarium:

Internship may be 2 or 4 months in duration, depending on your academic program

requirements. Students will receive an honorarium of up to $1,500 upon successful completion

of the internship

Placement Dates & Location: This internship will take place at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, located at 875 Morningside

Avenue, Scarborough, ON M1C 0C7

Internship term will be May 2026 to August 2026 depending on your academic program

requirements

is operated by a corporation co-owned by the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto. The

world-class facility was the largest sport new-build for the Games and the largest infrastructure

About Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is the largest sport new-build for the Pan Am Games and the largest investment ever in Canadian amateur sport history.

The Aquatics Centre includes two internationally sanctioned 10-lane, 50-metre pools (including bulkheads); a 5-metre deep diving tank with 3-metre, 5-metre, 7.5-metre and 10-metre platforms; and dry-land dive training facilities.

It doubles the number of Olympic-sized pools in the Greater Toronto Area. Moreover, with its other features, the Centre is the sole aquatics facility in the region that meets the latest international competition standards and will be the first facility with the required warm-up pool.

The Field House features flexible gymnasium space for training and competition, as well as an indoor recreational track and fitness area with cardio and weightlifting facilities.

The Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario (CSIO) is relocating its head office here, providing world-leading sport science and sport performance services including coaching and training facilities.
