Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a SOC Analyst III at Vancity, you will be a senior-level cybersecurity professional responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. You will perform in-depth forensic investigations to identify the root causes of threats and prevent future breaches along with lowering the risk of insider threats.

You will take a proactive approach to threat detection and incident response, utilizing advanced security tools to monitor networks and systems for potential vulnerabilities, ensuring swift action to mitigate risks. You will work independently and closely with the rest of the SOC team.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity location and will report directly to the SOC Team Manager.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Work through SOC alerts and use cases to take remediation actions
  • Conduct technical dives into what triggers alerts to understand the root cause and make necessary adjustments
  • Recommend and initiate changes in the overall security infrastructure
  • Lead and support vulnerability management efforts, including identification, assessment, and remediation of security risks
  • Conduct insider threat and forensic investigations, communicating effectively with ELT and other Senior Leaders
  • Complete comprehensive technical analysis reports with findings that are easily understood by non-technical individuals
  • Proactively identify and remediate risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
  • Mentor junior SOC Analysts and provide technical and security awareness training
  • Lead security projects and initiatives to strengthen the organization's overall security posture
  • Understanding of core security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Assess sensitive data exfiltration scenarios and quantify risk, map security controls, and make technical recommendations to address gaps
  • Analyze activity trends in the environment and associated environments using various analytics tools and methodologies to hunt for threats not otherwise detected by configured security alerts

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • An undergraduate degree preferably in Information Security, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or highly related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field
  • A core security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH and/or DLP certification
  • A digital forensics certification is a must
  • Expertise and experience in cybersecurity, forensic investigations, and threat detection
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $91,000 to $136,400 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
