About the role
The ILS Training Coordinator works closely with the Training Manager to ensure the successful rollout and delivery of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training for the Joint Support Ship (JSS) program, Canadian Coast Guard initiatives, and any upcoming projects requiring specialized training support. This includes managing all logistical arrangements, handling administrative tasks, and coordinating daily operations related to training activities. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage complex training schedules and interactions with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site at 889 Harbourside Drive, North Vancouver.
What you’ll do
The main objective of this role is to ensure timely and efficient scheduling, coordination, and delivery of OEM training sessions.
Scheduling and Coordination:
- Develop, maintain, and update a training schedule for OEM courses, ensuring alignment with operational timelines and resource availability.
- Coordinate instructor availability, delivery formats, training materials, and session logistics.
- Book training venues (virtual or physical), organize travel, and accommodation if required.
- Send training invites and reminders to participants.
- Address scheduling conflicts or changes.
- Monitor attendance and ensure appropriate participant selection based on job function or role.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Track training attendance, completion status, and collect feedback post-training, if required.
- Generate regular progress reports for management on training delivery status, participation rates, and any issues.
- Maintain training records.
- Ensure all training materials, manuals, and equipment are available and distributed as needed.
- Provide on-site or virtual support during training sessions, including setup and troubleshooting.
- Follow up with vendors for certificates, assessments, and post-training documentation, if required.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Training Manager.

What you’ll bring
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in training administration/coordination or project support.
- Post-secondary education in business, education, HR, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with defence/shipbuilding industry standards and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) frameworks is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in training administration/coordination or project support.

In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
