About the role

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Estimator, this role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid documents for communication cabling and small electrical construction projects. Working closely with suppliers, clients, and the ICAT division, this position requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to deliver detailed estimates in a timely and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review drawings and specifications. Complete take-offs Prepare and estimates for Communications, IT, and small electrical projects. Send pricing request documents to distributors as directed. Assist with take-offs and estimates for Communications, IT, and Large Construction. Issue Requests for Information and Requests for Quote to General Contractors and consultants. Capture and maintain all project details to ensure accuracy. Coordinate and maintain communication with all relevant stakeholders. Check estimates prepared by other employees when applicable. Submit reports as required. Support the Pursuits division as directed, and work with the Project Managers to complete layouts for Communications and small electrical projects.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor's Degree preferred; an equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant work experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years' experience in Communications Cabling Installations. Demonstrated knowledge of Communications Cabling and Electrical construction projects. High level of proficiency with Accubid estimating software is required. Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting. Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Experienced in preparing complex proposals with minimal supervision and coordinating team effort across multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with managers, employees, suppliers, and contractors at all levels. Strong organizational, administrative, and record-keeping skills with keen attention to detail. Able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines in a professional office environment.

TRAVEL

0-20 % travel may be required for this position.
