Dual Security Supervisor (Full-time) - Ajax
About the role
Casino Ajax is seeking a Full-time Dual Security Supervisor!
Under the general direction of Security Shift Manager & Security Manager or designate, this position will supervise a team of Security Officers in a shift work environment, fostering a safe and efficient work environment, while maintaining an open-door policy. You will be accountable for your staff, assisting with hiring, training, evaluations, recognition and development. You will be responsible for the protection of company assets and the reporting and arrest of criminals, ensuring the maintenance of peace and order for guests and fellow employees. You will provide first aid and medical attention as required. Your strong presence on the gaming floor will be vital to your management of people and interacting with customers, while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and other applicable laws, policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills, and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:
- Responsible for the protection of company assets and property;
- Self-motivator and ability to inspire other team members in enhancing the guest experience within the entertainment business;
- Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; preparing written and electronic statements;
- Escorting guests and team members;
- Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons;
- Observing transactions, slot drops, chip fills and transferring items to Lost & Found;
- Performing identification checks to any guest who appears under 30;
- Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security;
- Conducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property as assigned;
- Performing crowd control as directed;
- Attend to first aid incidents;
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations;
- Assisting Supervisor, Security with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program;
- Investigate, report and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities prior to the end of shift;
- Monitor guest self-exclusion program as required;
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
- Performing other reasonable duties as assigned.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- People-focused and committed to service excellence
- Proactive and solution-oriented with a drive to succeed
- A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Law and Security or related field
- A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience in a related field
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computer application packages
- A current First Aid/CPR Certificate, along with Non-Violent Intervention Technique Certificate
- The ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
- Must successfully complete the EMR course
- Bilingualism considered an asset
- Smart Serve certification
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
