Position Overview

TheDiesel Technician/ Sprinter TechnicianatMercedes-Benz Langleyplays a key role in delivering exceptional automotive service and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsible for performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, dealership policies, and warranty requirements.

The Technician contributes to the overall success of the service department by maintaining high productivity, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting positive customer relationships through quality workmanship and timely communication.

The expected pay for this position is $160,000.00 annually.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance according to repair orders, technical guidelines, and dealership standards.

  • Road test all vehicles before and after servicing to ensure repair accuracy and safety.

  • Track time by punching in/out at the start of the day, lunch, end of day, and at the beginning and completion of each job.

  • Advise the Service Advisor if repairs require more time than initially estimated.

  • Utilize protective seat covers and floor mats in every customer vehicle.

  • Notify the Service Advisor of additional required repairs, parts, or labor.

  • Complete all assigned repair tasks efficiently and accurately.

  • Document all services and repairs clearly and thoroughly in work orders.

  • Ensure all punch times accurately match the work performed.

  • Follow all manufacturer warranty procedures and dealership policies.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

  • Maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency through effective work practices.

  • Demonstrate a polite, professional, and customer‑focused attitude.

  • Perform additional service recommendations as outlined by dealership standards.

  • Obtain Service Manager approval/signature for all warranty add-ons.

  • Meet or exceed productivity and efficiency objectives set by the Service Manager.

Qualifications Required

  • Automotive Technician certification or enrollment in an equivalent apprenticeship program (Red Seal an asset).

  • Previous experience performing automotive repairs and diagnostics in a dealership or independent shop environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders, technical bulletins, and manufacturer documentation.

  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record*.*

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
