Working closely with other members of the maintenance team in Winnipeg, the Transport Trailer Technician – Mobile Technician specializes in over the road diagnoses and repairs. This expert Trailer Technician brings their expertise directly to the driver, is a go to for irregular repair jobs, and doesn’t hesitate to take on challenging repair work, regardless of the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the mobile service truck, enabling roadside repairs to Transport Trailer equipment

• Inspect trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operation

• Complete basic exterior trailer body repairs

• Perform metal working, cutting, and welding on landing gear, cross member replacements, slider and suspension, and rear end protection repairs

• Complete air brake and suspension repairs

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system deficiencies

• Follow and promote Safety Guidelines, SOPs, and best practices

• Provide accurate and clear work orders

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Valid class 5 license

• Transport Trailer Technician Level 3 Apprentice or equivalent experience

• Strong commitment to safety and continuous learning

• High attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem solving

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other transport trailer systems and related components

• 2 years of relevant experience is preferred

• CVI License is considered an asset
