About the role
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Central Kitchen Manager/delegate, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting quality control and ensuring food products complies with food safety, quality strategy and meets all regulatory, customer, and company requirements. The Quality Assurance Technician is also required to build a working relationship with the production team. Communicate with team leaders, head cooks, and managers immediately of any concerns or violations of the food safety program or health and safety practices.
- Work with mixing room employees to ensure that production and packaging adhere to formula and quality specification
- Monitor effectiveness of sanitation before and after operation
- Conduct ongoing inspection and documentation including visual inspections, ATB swab testing, as well as hygiene practices of all employees
- Monitor all aspects of processing activities following food safety regulations, FSQA’s requirements, and the company standards
- Communicate and provide corrective action to production staff if any improper adherence to food safety program or health and safety practices
- Conduct production line verification including but not limited to: sampling, inspecting, testing, and releasing raw ingredients and finished products on the assembly line, weight control checks, BBD checks, temperature checks, MD checks, etc.
- Perform chemical concentration checks, CCP verification, daily/weekly calibration, and sensory evaluation
- Collect and document raw material specifications, products’ recipes, SOPs, device SSOPs, etc.
- Prepare weight sheets, WIP labels, production sheets, etc.
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, product colors, and quality are up to standards
- Ensure all records and/or forms are complete and precise for product recall, inspection, audit, etc.
- Work closely with R&D Team for recipe development to ensure the production procedures are complying with the developed HACCP
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- Previous quality assurance experience in food processing industry is preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work flexible and rotational shifts, including overtime and on weekends/statutory holidays
- Ability to work in a low and high-temperature environment
