Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Professionalism in customer service. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). CPR Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety vest. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Organized. Reliability.
