EBT Chartered Professional Accountants is looking for an Associate CPA to join our amazing team at our Medicine Hat, AB location. Our Associate CPA’s play a critical role ensuring our financial reporting, tax preparation, auditing and compliance are done with accuracy and integrity. EBT is a full-service accounting office, with locations in Medicine Hat, AB and Swift Current, SK. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Corporate Year-End & Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, conduct file reviews, and ensure GAAP compliance. This will support our Principals in financial decision-making.
- Tax & Financial Planning: Assist with personal and corporate tax planning, preparation, and filing. · Audits & Compliance: Conduct audits and internal reviews to ensure there is accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration & Advisory: Work with employees to stay updated on tax law, accounting standards, and industry regulations.
- Financial Advisory & Process Improvements: Assist clients with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to enhance operational efficiency. Working closely with the Principals to identify opportunities for process improvement and establish best practices in accounting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Engagements including file preparation, financial statements, file review and both personal and corporate tax planning.
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
- Audit assignments.
- Mentor students.
- Strong analytical skills and motivated to produce high quality work.
- The ability to use Caseware, Taxprep, Simply Accounting,QuickBooks, Microsoft Office – Excel and Word and quickly learn additional software programs is essential.
- Robust client relations skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working in a Canadian public practice firm considered an asset
- trong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or tax preparation is preferred.
