Position Purpose:
We are seeking a Sr Financial Reporting Specialist to support Infrastructure Ontario’s financial reporting functions. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, supports audit processes, prepares financial reports and contributes to the development of financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and demonstrate strong analytical skills.
What You Will Do:
- Support the preparation of financial statements, including management report and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist with technical accounting research and provide guidance on complex transactions, including preparing technical memos and audit-ready documentation.
- Analyze financial data, and generate clear, actionable reports that support strategic decisions for senior management.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors during audit processes, including providing detailed working papers and evidence to support accounting treatments.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, including documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
- Support Public Accounts and Ministry reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to financial reporting and accounting.
- Support ad-hoc projects and financial reporting requests from Senior Management
What We Are Looking For:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (required).
- Experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with interpreting and applying accounting standards (PSAS, IFRS or ASPE) at an accounting firm
- Effective communicator with internal teams and external auditors.
- Experience driving process improvement and adapting existing methods.

We offer a competitive salary range of $82,800 to $124,100 (P4 level), pay will align with skills, knowledge and experience of the candidate.
