Position: Sous Chef
Terms of Employment: Full time. Candidates must be flexible and have the ability to work days, nights, weekends.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting with all food productions while providing critical support.
- Assists with food and safety compliance and food management.
- Helps to build and develop a high functioning Kitchen team
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs and cooks.
- Assist with arranging for equipment purchases and repairs.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Enjoys a busy environment.
- Cooks with passion, heart and pride.
COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- The Sous Chef demonstrates an ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete and of high quality.
- Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects
- A positive “can-do” attitude, inquisitive style and customer focus approach in order to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
REQUIREMENTS
- Culinary trade diploma or Red Seal preferred
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience, leadership experience preferred
- Food safety/ nutrition qualification are preferred.
