YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, Underground Operations, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Compile daily production numbers to support performance trend analysis (cycle times, material consumptions, etc), compliance tracking and planning processes.

Contribute to the weekly planning process and learn how to issue the weekly plan in the absence of the Short Range Planning Engineer when required.

Confirm advanced development meters and excavation volumes for daily, weekly and month end reporting.

Support the survey team in conducting underground and surface surveys in addition to installation of survey controls.
-
Provide support for mark up of underground development, including line and grade, and updating of relevant drawings using Deswik software (survey prints).

Perform ventilation readings and audits to ensure adequate ventilation as per design, updating the measurements on the appropriate vent boards and drawings.

Issue ventilation reports at a minimum of weekly with updated readings and action items for non-compliant area as per the ventilation standard.

Conduct job task observations, ground control inspections and test of installed ground support to confirm compliance with the Ground Control Management Plan.

Perform sample collection and development face mapping of geotechnical and geological elements to update development layout.

Issue rehabilitation prints for areas that don’t meet the ground support standards.

Liaise with the mining contractor and mine operations department to communicate compliance issues and development a remediation plan.

Other tasks outlined by the Senior Mine Engineer to support data collection and field assessment needs to ensure a high quality mine development.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Two (2) year Engineering Technician diploma, Engineer in Training (EIT) or equivalent education and/or mining experience.

Experience in mine surveying and ventilation.
-
Experience with Deswik (CAD, SCHED, OPS) is considered an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is considered an asset.
Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 7 days of work at our Detour Lake mine site, followed by 7 days off.

Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
