Salary Range: $103,155 - $153,155 annually

Position Summary The Research and Career Advancement Collaborative Hub (REACH) aims to be a UHN-wide hub for world-class educational experiences that enable Research scientists, staff, and trainees to push the limits of possibility. REACH will offer best-in-class research development and career advancement opportunities, customized to the specific learning needs of the research community by amplifying impact of existing opportunities, partnering to expand and transform high-quality offerings, and collaborating to co-develop innovative learning solutions. Its offerings will further establish Research at UHN as a global destination of choice, to attract, train and retain the brightest minds in research.
The Manager, Collaborative Centre Strategy & Operations takes primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of REACH, including planning and implementing programs, leading development of sub structures (e.g., advisory, focus groups), developing/measuring and reporting on program outcomes, and overseeing centre operations. This includes consulting with stakeholders across Research (including staff, scientists, and trainees) and other groups involved in education and professional development at UHN and externally. Some of the programming the manager will be responsible for are leadership training for Principal Investigators, awards programming for Research staff, and mentorship programming for all levels of Research. As we work to build out REACH, the Manager will be critical in shaping its programming and ensuring it serves the needs of the Research community.
Duties
- Leads the development and implementation of REACH programs, including determining timelines, forecasting resource requirements, and developing/managing budgets
- Represents REACH across the organization and in multi-institutional endeavours and manages its online presence.
- Collaborates with scientific leaders, multi-site and multi-disciplinary groups to ensure programming meets the needs of the Research community
- Holds accountability for measuring and reporting program performance, and develops key metrics to evaluate success
- Ensures that priorities are accomplished by providing direction to program/project teams and managing inter-disciplinary groups
- Expected to manage/anticipate human resource needs, and develop support for staff during implementation of new programs/projects
Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of a recognized undergraduate degree in Allied Health, Sociology or Health Science. Graduate degree in Health Education, Biomedical Sciences, Health-related field or recognized equivalent experience preferred.
- Five years of project management experience, with demonstrated expertise
- Two years experience in managing multi-institutional programs
- Experience with education program management preferred
- Experience in a health care or research setting preferred
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required; experience with SharePoint preferred
