The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently accepting applications for the position of Roads Supervisor within the Roads & Traffic Department. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with strong leadership skills and experience in municipal road maintenance to join a dedicated team serving our community.

The Roads Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day road operations, including road and sidewalk maintenance, winter control activities, construction coordination, and the supervision of approximately 40 staff members. This position provides technical guidance, ensures compliance with provincial safety, provincial maintenance and transportation regulations, manages inventory and scheduling, and supports efficient, high‑quality service delivery across all roads‑related activities. The ideal candidate brings relevant education or certification, strong supervisory experience, and the ability to lead teams in a busy municipal environment.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field, or combination of education and experience
  • Must have five (5) years previous related work experience
  • Roads Supervisor Certification (CRS) will be an asset
  • Certification in OGRA Winter Control Snow School
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Leadership Development Program Certification
  • Ability to work under pressure and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of software applications (MS Office)
  • Must possess a Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License
