Fairstone is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our People & Culture team and play a pivotal role in supporting our Corporate Functions across multiple locations.

About the role:

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, HRBP is a key advisor and trusted partner to business leaders across the organization. In this role, you’ll go beyond traditional HR administration by helping shape and implement people strategies that drive performance, support organizational growth, and promote a high-trust, high-impact culture.

As a hands-on and strategic HR Business Partner, you will:

  • Partner closely with leaders and people managers to provide proactive, day‑to‑day guidance on all HR matters, including coaching, workforce planning, talent development, and employee support.
  • Lead and execute core HR programs across performance management, employee relations, compensation, organizational design, and legislative compliance—ensuring a consistent, equitable, and high‑quality employee experience.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, coordinating documentation, responses, and follow‑up actions to ensure readiness and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Manage the HR budget and vendor ecosystem, including contract oversight, invoice tracking, and partner evaluation—ensuring strong value, service quality, and cost control.
  • Support organizational change and transformation efforts, including restructuring, team effectiveness initiatives, and culture-building programs.
  • Use HR analytics and data insights to identify trends, diagnose challenges, and recommend evidence‑based solutions for talent, performance, and engagement.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast hiring needs, support workforce planning, and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
  • Coach managers and employees to build leadership capability, improve communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace.
  • Contribute to HR process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance systems, and strengthen overall HR service delivery.
  • Drive cross‑functional HR projects and initiatives, ensuring clear timelines, effective collaboration, and successful delivery of outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a strong, well-rounded HR professional with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution:

  • 5 to 10 years of HR/Employee Relations experience in fast-paced, complex environments (financial services an asset)
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
  • Bilingual French & English is an asset
  • Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels
  • Experience supporting change management initiatives and driving organizational transformation
  • Familiarity with HR systems (Workday an asset) and strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws
  • Demonstrated agility, resilience, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

What you can expect - pay & process:

  • Expected base salary range is $100,000 - $125,000 plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
